About Word Wheel

A wheel of letters and a small crossword above it. Every answer in the grid is spelled from the wheel's letters, each used once — and one of them uses every letter. Drag through the letters to spell a word and let go; if it belongs in the grid it fills in, and its letters help with the words that cross it.

Real words that aren't in the grid still count, as bonus words, so no good find goes to waste. Stuck? Shuffle the wheel to see the letters afresh, or take a hint to show one letter in the grid. The grids use everyday words only, chosen from lists of the most common English words, so a solved puzzle never leaves you wondering what an answer meant.

The daily puzzle is six letters, the same for everyone, and timed from the moment it appears — each hint adds 20 seconds. Free play runs through 240 levels, from four-letter warm-ups to seven-letter wheels with ten words to find.

Tips to win

• Find the long word first: it crosses most of the others
• Plurals and past tenses are often answers — try adding S or ED
• The grid's shape tells you each word's length, and crossings give letters
• Shuffle when you're stuck on one arrangement of the letters
