Sokoballs
About Sokoballs
Sokoballs is a grid-based puzzle where you control a character who pushes balls onto designated switches. Each level is a maze of walls and open floor; balls sit at starting positions, and switches are scattered. You move your character one tile at a time, and when you move into a ball, it slides in the same direction until it hits a wall or another ball, provided the space behind it is clear. The level is solved when every switch is covered by a ball.
The challenge comes from limited manoeuvring room and irreversible mistakes. Pushing a ball into a corner or against a wall with no way to retrieve it forces a restart, so you must think several moves ahead. As levels progress, more balls and switches appear, and the interactions between balls grow complex. The retro pixel art keeps the focus on the logic, and the difficulty curve rewards careful planning over speed.
Tips to win
- Before pushing, check the destination tile: if a ball ends up against a wall with no way out, you may need to restart.
- Work backwards from a switch: determine which direction the ball must approach from to stay in place.
- When multiple balls interact, push one ball out of the way first, then reposition others.
