Place your fleet on a hidden grid, then trade torpedo strikes with a live opponent to sink every enemy ship. Each successful hit earns points you can spend on power-ups that alter the next salvo — extra shots, wider blasts, or a sonar ping that reveals part of the board. Your ships stay where you put them, so every placement is a bet on where your opponent will search first.

Against a human opponent, the simple grid becomes a psychological duel. They will notice if you cluster ships on the edges or always fire in straight lines, so you must keep changing patterns. Early misses waste turns while their fleet closes in. Power-ups are a gamble: save points for a decisive strike, or spend them early to gain information. The match ends when one side loses their last ship, and no two games play out the same way.

Tips to win

• Break up your ship placement: avoid predictable lines and keep at least one ship away from the edges.
• Fire in a diagonal or checkered pattern to cover more water quickly without overlapping.
• Save power-ups for when you have a hit streak going — one extra shot can finish a damaged ship.
