Today's longest memories
Same sequence for everyone · today's is colours, four pads
Nobody has taken today's sequence on yet — be the first name on the board.
One ranked run a day. Symbols, cups and the six-pad sequence are there for free play.
About Recall
Something is shown, and then it has to be given back. In Colours the pads light up one after another and you tap them in the same order; every round adds one more to the end, so round nine is round eight plus one. That is the part that matters: the sequence is never redrawn, so what you learned in round four is still true in round nine, and the game is remembering rather than guessing.
Two other ways to play. Symbols sends a run of symbols past you one at a time, then asks you to tap them back in order from a row that includes ones you never saw. Cups hides something under a cup and shuffles — three cups at first, then four, then five, with a swap more and a little more speed every round — and asks only where it ended up.
The sequence gets faster as it gets longer, down to a floor: below that it stops being memory and starts being eyesight. The daily challenge is the four-pad sequence, the same one for every player, ranked by the round you reach, once a day. Free play is unlimited, keeps your own best, and includes a six-pad version for when four stops being enough.
Tips to win
- Say it to yourself: green, red, red, blue is far easier to hold than four flashes were
- Group them in threes — the same trick that makes a phone number memorable works here
- Watch the whole sequence every round rather than only the new one on the end; that is where runs are lost
- In Cups, follow the space rather than the cup: your eye tracks a position more reliably than an object
