About Falling Blocks
Pieces fall one at a time into a well eleven squares wide and eighteen deep. Move and turn each one as it falls; fill a row all the way across and it clears, and everything above drops down. Let the pile reach the top and the game is over. Clear more rows at once for more points — a single row is 100, three together are 500 — and every ten rows the pieces fall faster.
The pieces are our own set, and not the ones you might expect. There is a little two-square piece, a straight three and a corner three — and then four big five-square pieces: the Boot, the Cup, the Tee and the long Hook. The fives are what make it its own game. They are awkward, they leave gaps if you let them, and the small pieces are there to tidy up after them. The next piece is always shown beside the well, so there is time to plan where it will go.

Tips to win
- Keep the pile flat: every step in the surface is a place a five will not fit
- Save the little pieces for the gaps the big ones leave
- Keep one column clear down the side and the long Hook can clear several rows at once
- Look at the next piece before placing this one
