Crypta
About Crypta
Crypta presents a grid of face-down cards, each hiding one of several crypto-symbols. You click cards one at a time to reveal them, then click a second card. If the two symbols match, the pair stays face-up and is removed from play; if they don't match, both flip back down. The goal is to match every pair using as few clicks as possible.
The challenge is entirely in your memory: after each failed attempt, you must recall where you've seen each symbol before. As the grid size grows or symbols become more similar, the mental load increases. A single wrong click costs a turn and forces you to rebuild your memory of the layout. Runs succeed or fail based on whether you can hold a clear map of the board in your head while managing the pressure of limited moves.
Tips to win
- Start by revealing cards in a fixed pattern (e.g., top-left to bottom-right) to build a spatial map.
- When you find a match, immediately pair it before exploring new cards, so you don't forget the location.
- If the grid is large, focus on remembering one or two symbols at a time rather than trying to track everything.
