About Circularmatrix

Circularmatrix is a sorting puzzle played on a set of concentric rings. Each ring is divided into coloured segments, and you can rotate any ring independently left or right. The goal is to arrange the segments so that each colour forms a straight line from the centre to the outer edge, with no column containing mixed colours. The puzzle starts with the segments shuffled across all rings, and you solve it step by step by turning the rings until every column is solid.

The challenge comes from the way rings interact: moving one ring can break a column you already solved, so you must plan sequences of moves rather than fixing one ring at a time. Early puzzles have few rings and limited colour variety, but later ones add more segments and colours, making it easy to get lost in partial solutions. The game has no timer or move limit, so you can experiment freely, but the most efficient solutions require thinking several moves ahead.

Tips to win

• Start with the outermost ring: it has the fewest possible positions, so aligning it first reduces the search space.
• Look for colours that appear only once per ring; those columns must be solved first as anchors.
• If you get stuck, rotate a ring all the way around to reset neighbouring columns, then rebuild from a known solved section.
