Amaze Escape
About Amaze Escape
In Amaze Escape you control an inmate inside a top-down maze, trying to reach the exit without being seen. Guards patrol the corridors along fixed lines of sight. Each move you make is taken one tile at a time, and after you move, the guards move on their own schedule. If any guard has an unobstructed view of your tile, you are captured and the level restarts. The core loop is a turn-based stealth puzzle: every step must be timed to keep you out of every guard's field of vision.
The difficulty comes from the increasing complexity of the mazes. Early levels have one guard with a short patrol, but later layouts add multiple guards whose routes overlap, forcing you to thread through blind spots and use walls to break sightlines. Since a single wrong move ends the attempt, each level becomes a careful exercise in reading guard patterns and finding the one safe sequence of steps.
Tips to win
- Watch guard patrol routes for several turns before moving; most guards follow repeating loops.
- Use walls and corners to break line of sight; guards cannot see through solid tiles.
- Wait for a guard to turn away, then move through a gap; patience is often safer than speed.
