Each level presents a grid of letters containing the names of animals hidden in any of eight directions: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The player finds each word by selecting its letters in order, either by clicking and dragging with a mouse or tapping the first and last letter on a touch screen. When a word is submitted correctly, the game highlights it in the grid and crosses it off the list of words to find for that level. The level is complete when all listed animal words have been located.
The difficulty comes from the density of the letter grid and the variety of animal categories covered. Early levels introduce common mammals and farm animals, while later levels include less familiar terms from groups like reptiles, insects, and ocean creatures. Words can intersect and share letters, making some blends harder to spot than isolated words. The main challenge is efficient scanning: finding all words without missing any, especially the shorter words that hide easily among random letters. The educational angle is built into the word lists, which expose players to animal names they might not otherwise encounter.

- Start with the longest or most unusual animal names on the list; their distinctive letter combinations are easier to locate first.
- Scan the grid systematically—row by row and column by column—rather than searching randomly, to avoid missing words.
- Pay extra attention to diagonal lines, as these are the most commonly overlooked placements.
