In Stellar Guardian, the player pilots a lone starfighter against endless waves of alien attackers. Moving the ship with the mouse or keyboard, the player must dodge enemy fire and destroy every hostile craft that enters the screen. Each destroyed enemy may drop power-ups that enhance the ship's weapons, shields, or speed. The game responds by increasing the number and variety of enemies, introducing tougher armored foes and, at the end of each stage, a massive boss with patterned attacks.

Survival depends on reading enemy attack patterns while managing a limited upgrade economy. Choosing when to grab a power-up—since it may require flying into danger—tests risk assessment. Boss fights shift from bullet-dodging to learning and exploiting weak points. Difficulty escalates not just through enemy health but through bullet density and speed, forcing constant movement and prioritization of targets.

• Keep moving in a wide circle to avoid being cornered by bullet patterns.
• Upgrade damage output first to reduce the number of enemies on screen.
• Learn boss attack patterns; most have safe zones or windows to counterattack.
