About Paper Plane

A paper plane glides across a sky full of pencils. It sinks all the time; every tap gives it a little lift. Steer it through the gaps between the pencils hanging from above and the ones standing up from below — touch a pencil or the grass and the flight is over. Each gap you get through is a point.

The trick is small, even taps: a burst of them sends the plane shooting up into the next pencil, and waiting too long lets it drop out of reach of a high gap. The gaps get a little narrower and the pencils come a little faster the further you go, but each gap is always within reach of the last.

The daily flight is one go through the same pencils for everyone — leave in the middle of it and it ends there — ranked by gaps passed. Free play lets you fly as often as you like and keeps your best.

Tips to win

• Tap just as the plane starts to fall, not while it's still climbing
• Line up with the next gap early rather than diving at the last moment
• Low gaps come quickly — let the plane drop, then catch it with one tap
