About Lineo
Lineo is a match-3 puzzle built around matching abstract line designs. The board is filled with tiles showing different line types—straight, curved, angled, spiral—and you swap adjacent tiles to form a row or column of three or more identical lines. Matched lines disappear, the tiles above fall into the gaps, and new lines drop in from the top. The goal is simply to keep clearing matches and score as many points as possible.
The challenge comes from reading the board before you swap. Each move you make that fails to create a match wastes a turn and reshuffles the layout, sometimes burying a needed tile deeper. As you clear lines, the falling tiles can trigger chain reactions, but setting those up requires planning two or three moves ahead. The variety of line shapes is subtle enough that distinguishing a spiral from a loop under time pressure becomes part of the difficulty.
Tips to win
- Before swapping, scan for pairs of identical lines that are one tile away from being a match; those are the safest moves.
- Prioritize moves that create multiple matches at once or set off cascades, as they clear more of the board with a single action.
- If you are stuck, look for a swap that at least brings two identical lines next to each other, even if it does not complete a match immediately.
