About Flames & Fortune
Flames & Fortune is a roguelike deckbuilder. You start with a basic deck and battle through a dungeon, drawing a hand each turn and playing cards to deal damage, block, or activate abilities. After each fight you add new cards to your deck from a random selection, and between battles you encounter events that can help or hinder you. The goal is to defeat the final boss before your health runs out.
The game's difficulty comes from deck management. Every card you add will be drawn later, so weak or off-strategy cards dilute your hand. Enemies have different attack patterns and abilities, forcing you to adapt your strategy each run. Random rewards mean no two runs are the same; a winning combination one time may not appear again. Success requires careful choices about which cards to take, which to cut, and how to balance offense, defense, and card draw.
Tips to win
- Cut weak starting cards whenever possible to keep your deck focused on your strongest synergies.
- Evaluate cards not just by their effect but by how often you can play them; high-cost cards may sit in your hand.
- Pay attention to enemy attack patterns and plan your blocks accordingly.
