About Face Breaker
Face Breaker is a block-breaking arcade game. The player moves a paddle along the bottom of the screen to keep a square-faced ball in play. The ball bounces off the paddle and destroys any blocks it touches. The goal is to clear all blocks in each of the 45 levels before the ball falls past the paddle. If the ball slips by, the level must be restarted.
The challenge comes from the ball's accelerating speed. Each bounce off the paddle or a block makes the ball move faster, requiring quicker reactions and more precise paddle placement. The square shape of the ball also introduces unpredictable bounce angles compared to a round ball. As levels progress, block arrangements become tighter, and the margin for error shrinks. The core loop is simple, but the increasing pace turns it into a test of sustained attention and anticipation.
Tips to win
- Keep the paddle near the centre of the screen when anticipating the next bounce; it gives the shortest distance to either side.
- At the start of a level, aim for columns of blocks that are tallest, as clearing them creates open space for unpredictable bounces.
- As speed increases, focus on returning the ball to the top half of the screen rather than targeting specific blocks; survival matters more than progress.
