Wormpocalypse is a side-scrolling action platformer set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. You control a lone survivor who must run, jump, and shoot through decaying ruins infested with mutated creatures. The goal is to survive each level, defeat enemies, and uncover the story behind the catastrophe. The game responds to your inputs in real time: enemies attack on sight, platforms collapse, and traps trigger as you move.

What makes it challenging is the mix of precise jumping and quick shooting. You must manage a limited but varied arsenal, deciding when to use powerful weapons or save ammo. Enemy patterns become faster and more aggressive as you progress, and hidden areas often contain supplies or story fragments. A single mistimed jump or wasted shot can end a run quickly, making each attempt feel tense and methodical.
