Paletto is a logic puzzle about applying colors in the right sequence. Each level shows a target pattern — a grid or arrangement of colored areas. You start with a blank or differently colored board and a set of coloring tools. Each tool, when used, changes the color of specific regions or the entire board according to fixed rules, such as flood-filling a connected area or recoloring all cells of one color. Your goal is to transform the starting board into an exact match of the target. Because each action affects the board globally or changes how future actions will behave, the order of operations is the puzzle.

The challenge is planning moves in advance. A coloring step may overwrite colors you need elsewhere, forcing you to rethink. Levels gradually introduce more colors and larger boards, making the sequence longer and less obvious. The game rewards methodical observation and experimentation, with no time pressure.

Tips to win

• Work backwards from the target to identify the last move, then continue backward to the start.
• Learn each tool's exact effect on the board before attempting a full solution.
• Look for colors that appear in small, isolated areas; they often dictate a specific move order.
