About Gravity Merge

In Gravity Merge, you drop numbered tiles into a vertical shaft. Tiles fall under gravity until they rest on the bottom or on other tiles. When two tiles of the same value touch, they merge into a single tile of double that value, freeing space and adding to your score. The goal is to keep merging to create increasingly large tiles before the shaft fills to the top.

The difficulty comes from placement: each new tile appears at the top and you choose where to drop it, but its landing spot is affected by the existing pile. A careless drop can create isolated pockets or block merges. As the board fills, the safe area shrinks, forcing you to plan several merges ahead. The game ends when a tile cannot enter the shaft because the top row is blocked.

Tips to win

  • Plan merges from the bottom up: create large tiles in corners so they don't block incoming pieces.
  • Keep the stack as flat as possible to avoid trapping high-value tiles under low-value ones.
  • When possible, merge chains in one column to free up space quickly.
