Diner in the Storm
About Diner in the Storm
You shelter in a roadside diner from a sudden, violent storm. Something dangerous lurks outside, but leaving alone is trivial—the front door is unlocked. Winning requires escaping with every other patron. That means exploring the small building for clues about the threat and talking to each person to understand why they refuse to leave.
The core challenge is persuasion. Each character has a reason to stay—fear, denial, or a belief the storm will pass—and you must find the argument, item, or proof that changes their mind. Dialogue and environmental investigation link together: a half-finished meal or a locked back room can be key evidence. The threat outside grows more audible as time passes, adding pressure, but you cannot rush. Convincing everyone requires patience and careful observation.
Tips to win
- Listen carefully to what each patron says; their specific fears are the clue to what evidence or argument will convince them.
- Explore the diner thoroughly before focusing on one person; items found in one area often sway someone else.
- Do not leave through the front door until you are certain everyone is ready; leaving early ends the game without success.
